Submissions

Humble Pie is evolving! In your submission you will have the chance to include your racial/sexual/gender identity. We do this for the purpose of inclusion and amplifying marginalized voices. We are particularly interested in work from writers who identify with traditionally under-represented groups–so if you, or someone you know, has work that centers the knowledge or experience of a marginalized group, we want to publish it in Humble Pie!  We are looking for work from BIPOC, AAPI, LGBTQA+, and international writers to give voice to this moment of TRANSITION as we all search for what’s on the horizon.

We are open through March 30 to submissions on the theme of TRANSITION, however you define that word! We accept poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, hybrid writing, and visual art.

All submissions are judged anonymously by the editorial board — made 100% of CCA undergraduate students from a variety of fields.

We will publish Volume 19 online in Spring 2022.

Prose submissions should be typed, double-spaced, and paginated, up to 5000 words. Poetry can be single-spaced, 1-5 poems. Please fill out the Google form here:

Include in your cover letter your full contact information (including email address) and a short bio, up to 75 words, written in the 3rd person.
